LCRA: Grelle Recreation Area
Grelle Recreation Area offers a two-mile trail with spectacular views of Lake Travis.

Grelle Recreation Area wraps around an isolated cove on the south shore of Lake Travis. The cove's grassy beach is a good swimming spot.

A two-mile hiking trail winds through the area's hills to a plateau with a spectacular view of Lake Travis.

Overnight camping is allowed at the 400-acre area, but no facilities are provided. It has one outdoor toilet and no drinking water.

Fees: $5 per vehicle.

Reservations: None required.

LCRA Recreation Area Annual Vehicle Permit: An annual vehicle permit is available for all LCRA recreation areas: Muleshoe Bend, Grelle Park, Turkey Bend, Gloster Bend and Plum Park. The cost is $50. See instructions on how to purchase your annual permit.

Grelle Recreation Area is on the upper south side of Lake Travis.

How to get there: The most direct route for travelers coming from either Austin or Llano is to take State Highway 71 and turn north on Spur 191. In Spicewood, turn right on County Road 404. Continue almost one mile, then turn left onto County Road 412 (not shown on map). Continue approximately ½ mile to the park entrance.
