Cabins at Oak Thicket Park can accommodate as many as 14 people.

Catch a trophy bass, swim or relax in a furnished cabin at Oak Thicket Park. The park on 2,000-acre Fayette Lake also has RV and tent campsites, screened shelters, a large pavilion, picnic facilities, hiking trails, a sandy beach, a playground, interpretive nature exhibit and a boat ramp.

Oak Thicket Park offers eight cabins. Three types of cabins are available for park guests. Efficiencies sleep up to four people, the two-bedroom cabin will sleep up to 6 and as many as 14 people can bunk down in each of the two bunkhouse cabins.

All cabins have heat and A/C, bed and bath linens, satellite TV, coffee maker, small refrigerator, microwave and bathrooms. There are also picnic tables, grills and campfire rings outside. The two-bedroom and bunkhouse include their own kitchenettes for cooking indoors.

For campers with RV's, Oak Thicket Park offers 20 campsites with water and electric hookups. Four of these sites have 50 amp electric hookups for those larger RV's. For campers without their own RV, Oak Thicket offers eight screened shelters with electricity, water, ceiling fans, picnic table, grill and fire rings. Fees: Entry to the park is $4 per person 14 and over and $3 for those 65 and over. There are additional charges for camping and cabin facilities. See fees and facilities.

Reservations: Reservations for Oak Thicket facilities can be made by calling Texas Parks and Wildlife Reservation Center at (512) 389-8900 more than 48 hours in advance. There is a $5 service charge for LCRA reservations made through TPW. To make reservations less than 48 hours in advance, call the park at (979) 249-3504.

How to get there: From Houston, take State Highway 290 West into Hempstead. In Hempstead take Business Highway 159 into Fayetteville. The park entrance will be on your left off of Highway 159.
From Austin, take State Highway 71 East to Highway 159. Turn left onto Highway 159. The park entrance will be on your right off of Highway 159.
