North Shore Park on 900-acre Lake Bastrop has features to appeal to campers, anglers and nature lovers.

A boat ramp and fishing pier provide fishing and water-based recreation. North Shore has 15 universal campsites available. Eight sites are available with 50 amp electric and water hookups, two sites include sewer hookups. Seven sites are available with 30 amp electric and water hookups. There are also picnic areas, a pavillion, rest rooms and showers available. See map of the park. This requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. Get a free reader.

Fees: $3 per person over 14 and $2 for those 65 and over. There are additional fees for camping areas and shelters. See fees and facilities.

Reservations: Reservations for North Shore facilities can be made by calling Texas Parks and Wildlife Reservation Center at (512) 389-8900 more than 48 hours in advance. There is a $5 service charge for LCRA reservations made through TPW. To check availability less than 48 hours in advance, call the park at (800) 776-5272 ext. 1922.

North Shore Park is on the north shore of Lake Bastrop.

How to get there: From Austin, take Highway 71 east to Bastrop. Take Highway 95 north and turn right on FM 1441, drive 2.5 miles to the park entrance.

Park Hosts Positions Available
LCRA is seeking park hosts in 2006 at public parks in Bastrop and Burnet counties. Park hosts spend 25 hours a week assisting park staff in exchange for an RV site with full utility hookups and use of park facilities. Park hosts duties may include assisting park visitors, collecting litter and performing light maintenance. See Park Hosts for information and an application packet.
