LCRA is committed to helping the communities in its 58-county service area continue to thrive. Through a variety of grants and programs, LCRA supports community development efforts, boosts local economies and helps improve quality of life.

LCRA enhances communities in Central Texas by:

• Offering community development assistance for everything from public parks to recycling.
• Enhancing community leadership with training opportunities for business people, government officials and students.
• Assisting communities in developing strategic and comprehensive plans. These plans map out physical and demographic resources, identify community strengths, how to market the community to appropriate industries.
• Offering low-cost telecommunications services to certain communities in its service area.
• Helping identify problems facing existing businesses and determining opportunities for growth through its Business Retention and Recruitment Program.
• Helping communities research and interpret demographic and economic data with research and analysis services.
• Partnering with communities in developing tourism opportunities to draw visitors to the regions' historic town centers and scenic natural attractions.
