How do I apply for a job at LCRA?
LCRA only accepts applications submitted through our online system. We do not accept applications submitted by mail, fax or email.
What happens to my application after it is received by LCRA?
Provided you meet initial screening criteria, your application information is forwarded to the appropriate hiring manager. If the hiring manager decides he or she would like to bring you in for an interview, you will receive a call from the hiring manager or his or her associate to set up an interview.
What if there isn't a closing date listed on the posting?
The position is considered open indefinitely and can be closed at any time. It is recommended that you apply for it as soon as possible to avoid missing the opportunity.
Do I have to register in order to view current opportunities?
No. You can view current opportunities without registering. However, you must register in order to apply for a particular position. You must also successfully submit your first application in order for eRecruit to recognize you as a registered user for future visits.
How can I contact the hiring manager?
We do not provide information about hiring managers to applicants. If the hiring manager wants to interview you either by phone or in person, he or she will contact you directly.
Are applications reviewed by people or computers?
All applications that meet the minimum requirements are reviewed by the hiring manager and their staff.
Will I hear back from LCRA after I submit my application?
Yes. You will receive a confirmation email almost immediately after submitting your application.
How can I find out the status of my application?
You can view your application status by logging in to LCRA's applicant system.
What do the application status codes mean?
Applied = You have applied for a particular position.
Preliminary screening = Your application has been forwarded to the hiring manager.
Under review = Your application is under further review.
Interview = You have been selected to receive an interview.
Selected = You have been selected to receive an offer of employment.
Not selected = You have not been selected for further consideration.
Cancelled = LCRA is not filling the position at this time.
Withdrawn = You have requested that your application be withdrawn from consideration.
How long does the hiring process take at LCRA?
We generally tell applicants that the hiring process takes four to six weeks. The hiring process for a particular position can take longer than six weeks, due to a variety of factors.
How do I know where a particular job is located?
The location is noted in the job postings list that displays after a job search is performed.
What if my school isn't listed as one of the selection options?
Use the space noted as 'Other:' to the right of the list of schools to type in your school's name.
